Drill Team
There will be a drill team practice this Saturday from 11am - 330pm. Come in C3s (ribbons) and bring a lunch.
Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence DEADLINE IS APRIL 15 2024!!!
Cadets submit their portfolios to Maj Reid by April 15 2024.
Selection Criteria
The main objective in awarding the RCL Cadet Medal of Excellence is to emphasize the citizenship aspects of the cadet program. To be eligible for consideration, a cadet must meet the following conditions:
completed three years of training
met all requirements of the squadron annual mandatory training and participated in 75% of the optional training programs;
participated in a minimum of three community service events, (outside cadets in 2023/2024) in addition to those supported by the cadet unit;
be regarded by peers and superiors as exemplifying the model cadet;
Enhance the cadet squadron through: i) co-operation with peers and subordinates; ii) comradeship;
i. promoting goodwill and morale within the squadron;
ii. aiding in the development of group identity and cohesiveness;
iii. supporting and assisting fellow unit members; and
iv. his/her involvement in the local community
The applicant must submit a portfolio outlining their volunteer work in the community along with a narrative of 300 – 500 words which supports why they feel they are eligible and why they meet the selection criteria above. WO1 Erb will have his portfolio present as an example for the next few Monday’s.
Tree Top Trekking April 20th 2024

Cadets to be at Armoury NLT 7am. Bus leaving Armoury 730am sharp.
Parents to pick up cadets at Armoury at 430pm.
Spring Tagging
Tagging is our main source of fundraising and we need your support! Any cadet who is under 16 must have a parent or guardian tag with them. We are asking that all cadets tag a minimum of 3 shifts. Tagging pays for all the fun and exciting things we do. We are planning an out of province trip next year so this tagging is important!
Gliding April 27th 2024

Scholarships
Lloyd Jenson Scholarship is a $1500 scholarship awarded to one deserving cadet who is leaving to pursue post-secondary education. Please submit scholarship applications to ssc@102squadron.com by May 1st, 2024. Interviews will take place on May 7th and 8th online from 7:30 pm
