📢Monday September 23rd

Change in Location for Parade Nights: Effective Immediately, 102 Squadron will be using Roméo-Dallaire Secondary School (736 Essa Rd, Barrie, ON L4N 9E9) as another location for our Monday Parade Nights. All Cadets are to use the front doors and arrive NLT 1815hrs. Cadets are to be picked up for 2100hrs.


Senior Cadets: There is a Sr NCO Training Weekend, this weekend (September 21-22) at the Armoury. This is mandatory for all level 4’s & 5’s. You are to arrive NLT 1700hrs on Saturday and will finish by 1600 on Sunday. Please eat dinner before you arrive as only Breakfast and Lunch on Sep 22 will be provided. You are to arrive in C-2B on Saturday and be in Business Casual on Sunday. This is an overnight event and therefore you are expected to bring sleeping equipment and be prepared for learning (notebook, writing utensils, etc). Band: Band will start Sunday, September 22nd at the Armouries. Please bring instruments if you have them and any music supplies you need to perform. If you are new, show up and we will help find the right instrument for you to start on! New cadets can be dropped off 1800hrs and picked up at 1930hrs this will be the only Sunday that the timings are different. Returning cadets timings are 1800- 2100hrs, if new cadets wish to stay the full rehearsal they are welcome to. Any questions can be directed to SLt Morris  morris.amanda123@gmail.com


The dress for Monday, September 16th will be C2-B. This is summer dress. Any new cadets are to wear a collared white shirt, black pants, black shoes and a black tie.


Annual Validation Forms: Returning cadets, if you have not already had your parent or guardian sign your annual validation form. You must sign them ASAP. Your parents need to come into Roméo-Dallaire this week to sign your form.


New cadets! 102 Squadron welcomes new cadets during our regular parade nights. Please come visit us at Roméo-Dallaire (736 Essa Rd, Barrie, ON L4N 9E9) at 6:15 on Monday night. In order to enroll, you must provide a valid health card and birth certificate or Canadian Permanent Resident Card or passport.


Attention Level 2 Cadets, a message from your level officers…

We are looking forward to an excellent training year! Please remember to have with you a notebook and pen/pencil for taking notes next week. This is to be considered standard kit for you to have when in class. Cell phones will not be allowed as note-taking tools.

Remember to review the section on code of conduct on the web site with your parents. It is an important part of what we expect from you as a cadet and what you can expect from the leadership of the squadron.

Barrie Subaru OPC Tickets: We are looking for 8 cadets to help at Barrie Subaru to sell OPC tickets on Saturday, September, 28th. More details and a signup to come!


Gliding: Our first gliding day of the year will be on Sunday, September 29th. There are only 80 spots available, so the first priority will go to those who have the highest attendance at mandatory training events and have never been gliding before. Busses will leave the Armoury at 0730hrs and we estimate a return time of 1645hrs. Lunch will be provided. Sign Up Here!


Fall FTX: Our first FTX of the year is coming up on October 4-6 at Marygrove (Same place as our last spring FTX). If you are a new cadet and you don’t know what an FTX is, ask a returning cadet. Make sure to reserve that date! More information to come!


Drill: There is no drill practice this week, take some time to read over the  CFP 201 (Drill Manual) and work on your uniform.

Monday night parades are mandatory, and attendance is required to complete level training and be considered for promotions. If you cannot attend a parade night, make sure to report your absence as far in advance as possible using this form. Please do not email to report an absence.

📢Monday September 16th

Change in Location for Parade Nights: Effective immediately, 102 Squadron will be using Roméo-Dallaire Secondary School (736 Essa Rd, Barrie, ON L4N 9E9) as another location for our Monday Parade Nights. This week level’s 2-5 are to arrive at Roméo-Dallaire for 1815hrs. Cadets are to use the side doors facing towards the entrance of the parking lot. Cadets are to be picked up for 2115hrs. All other cadets (Level 1 cadets and New Cadets) are to continue to go to the armoury until future notice.


Battle of Britain: 102 Squadron will be participating in the Battle Of Britain parade this Sunday, September 15th at CFB Borden, we are looking for maximum attendance. For more information and to sign up for this important event, Click Here!


Drill: There will be a drill team tryout this Friday, September 13th from 1800hrs till 2000hrs at the Armoury. Come prepared to practice basic drill movements.  Assessments will be occurring on your execution of personal drill, deportment and attitude. Commands will be delivered by last years 2IC and 3IC as well as some of our senior cadets who have gone to summer training as staff cadets. All level 3-5 participants are to look at the CFP 201 (Drill Manual) and select one stationary drill movement that they might be interested in teaching.  You must be prepared to proficiently teach any size group.


Range: Range has been cancelled this weekend. Stay tuned for more information.


Supply Appointments: Supply will be open on September 14th from 1700-1920. You MUST bring your uniform and sign up for an appointment. The appointments are approximately 20 minutes each. Sign Up Here!

📢Monday September 9th

The dress for Monday, September 9th will be C2-B. This is summer dress. Any new cadets please wear appropriate civilian clothing.


Welcome back to all returning cadets and welcome to all new prospective cadets.  This is our first parade night of the year!


Returning Cadets: Level 4 & 5 please arrive at 1745h.  All returning cadets (Level 2 & 3) please arrive at 1830. Returning parents will be free to go after the admin paperwork is signed.


New cadets: 102 Squadron welcomes new cadets during our regular parade nights. Please arrive at the armoury (37 Parkside Drive) at 1830 this Monday. In order to enroll, you must provide a valid health card and birth certificate or passport. Note, parents must accompany their cadets for this first night. Please take some time to get to know our squadron website as all events and the most up to date information is published here.


Supply will not be doing uniform exchanges on Monday, any return cadets that require a uniform exchange must submit a supply request on the website. Returning cadets that have grown out of their uniform are required to wear business casual for this Monday.

Band: Details about the first rehearsals for band will be discussed this Monday (Sep 9), any questions please speak with SLt Morris.

📢Monday June 17th

Summer Training Night: There will be a mandatory information night for any cadets and parents that have been selected for summer training this year, from 1830-2100hrs at the Armoury. (This also applies if you are on standby.) Any cadets that require a uniform exchange for summer training are asked to bring there uniform on Monday.


Drill Team: Please pick up your Drill Team Sweaters at the Armoury at 18:30 on Monday. Great job this year, see you all in September!


Lost Items: If you’ve lost something at cadets this year please come to the Armoury on Monday to look through the lost and found as this will be your last chance to claim any missing items. Any items that are not returned will be donated.


Europe Trip: 102 Squadron will be travelling to Europe from August 26, 2020, until September 3rd, 2020! The deadline to apply is June 15th at 2359hrs. For more information and to find out on the selection process, click here!
