Cadet Activities Program: 102 Squadron is excited to introduce the Cadet Activities Program. This initiative aims to provide a fun experience for interested cadets. The CAP will operate in person (should Covid restrictions lift) daily 15-19 March 2021 from 0700hrs-1800hrs. The location for this program is Hillsdale Community Rec Centre in Hillsdale. It will be the parent’s responsibility to get their cadet to and from this location.  

Some of the activities being developed for the Cadet Activities Program are:

Amazing Race, Biathlon (Run and Shoot), Fitness Activities, Hiking/Nature Walk, Marksmanship, Team Building, Games, Sledding, Stem Activities, Orienteering, Escape Room, Ice Breakers etc., just to name a few.

This exciting program is offered with limited spacing, so you will be required to sign up here. Click here for more information.

OPC 50/50 Raffle: To help raise funds for Air Cadet squadrons including ours, the OPC is running a 50/50 raffle. The monthly draw will be a minimum of $1000, so we highly recommend you purchase tickets ASAP! 102 Squadron Podcast: Our 102 Squadron Podcast has officially been released on all major podcast platforms. If you like aviation and especially listening to podcasts, you should definitely check out the 102 Squadron podcast! Our podcast team has been working extremely hard to release this podcast and you should expect an episode every week. We talk about nearly every aviation topic you could think of including aviation history, modern aviation, and even aircraft comparisons. We encourage everyone to give it a try!

Effective Speaking and Debate: Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 20th on the Level 3 Zoom. Remember to work on your speeches for the competition this month – we need a draft for this week!

Programme d’activités des cadets : Le 102e Escadron est ravi de présenter le Programme d’activités des cadets. Cette initiative vise à offrir une expérience amusante aux cadets intéressés. Le CAP fonctionnera en personne (en cas de lever des restrictions de Covid) tous les jours du 15 au 19 mars, de 7 h 00 à 18 h 00. L’emplacement de ce programme est le Hillsdale Community Rec Centre à Hillsdale. Il incombe aux parents d’amener leur cadet à cet endroit et d’en revenir.

Certaines des activités en cours d’élaboration pour le programme d’activités des cadets sont :

Incroyable course, biathlon (course et tir), activités de remise en forme, randonnée / promenade dans la nature, le tir, consolidation d’équipe, jeux, luge, activités de tige, course d’orientation, salle d’évasion, brise-glace, etc, pour n’en nommer que quelques-uns.

Ce programme passionnant est offert avec un espacement limité, vous devrez donc vous inscrire : consultez le site Web et les annonces plus tard cette semaine ! Restez à l’écoute pour plus d’informations à venir sur notre site Web et Facebook.

Notre équipe de podcast a travaillé très fort pour publier ce podcast et vous devriez vous attendre à un épisode chaque semaine ! Nous parlons de presque tous les sujets de l’aviation auxquels vous pourriez penser, y compris l’histoire de l’aviation, l’aviation moderne et même les comparaisons d’avions. Nous encourageons tout le monde à essayer !

Débat et discours efficace : Notre prochaine réunion aura lieu le mercredi 20 Janvier sur le niveau 3 Zoom. Assurez-vous de travailler sur vos discours pour cette mois – nous avons besoin d’un brouillon pour cette semaine.

Elite Dangerous Expedition: This Friday will be the last opportunity for Elite Dangerous Commanders to get assistance prior to our Fleet Carrier departing on our Galactic Journey. Please go to the 102 Twitch Channel (Username: 102SilverFoxSquadron) between 1600-1800 this Friday the 8th. Also, if you’re having trouble getting the game set up, please join the Twitch chat/Discord chat at that time and we will help!

Monday, January 4th (CFA🏃)

Cadet Fitness Assessment and Incentive Program (CFA): In order to be considered for promotion every Cadet needs to participate in the CFA. This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, all level 5 cadets will carry out a “Virtual” CFA on January 3rd at 15:45hrs on the level 4 Zoom room, and on January 4th for level 1, 2, 3 and 4 at 18:45hrs on your regular Level Zoom meetings (click here for all current Zoom info).

A demonstration of the standard required, cadence and equipment needed is available on the Squadron YouTube Channel (102 (Barrie) Silver Fox Squadron, the best Air Cadet squadron in Ontario) or by clicking here. ☃️Monday, December 21st: Christmas Dinner

Christmas Dinner: This Monday, December 21st will be 102’s virtual Christmas Banquet! It will take place from 1800hrs – 1930hrs on the squadron-wide Zoom link. The dress is business casual (i.e. not a t-shirt; hair to standard, etc). Additionally, it is important that you update Zoom for this meeting to the newest version (5.4.3) if this has not already been done. Click here to sign up!

Vous ne serez pas autorisé à participer à l’entraînement si le cours n’est pas terminé. Pour savoir comment le prendre, cliquez ici. Dîner de Noël: Ce lundi, 21 décembre ça va être le banquet virtuel de Noel pour 102. Ça va être de 1800 hrs – 1930 hrs sur la lien Zoom pour toute l’escadron. La code vestimentaire est vêtement décontracté (ex. pas un t-shirt, cheveux aux standard, etc.). Aussi, c’est important que vous ayez la version de Zoom la plus récente (5.4.3) si ça n’a pas déjà été fait. (Inscription vas venir bientôt)

Présentations d’entraînement d’été: Le 19 décembre, le 102e Escadron fera des présentations sur les possibilités que vous avez pour les camps d’été. Nous avons besoin que les cadets se portent volontaires pour parler de leurs expériences passées et des camps auxquels ils ont participé, en personne et virtuellement. Nous ne savons pas si la formation d’été aura lieu, mais si c’est le cas, nous voulons toujours donner à chacun la possibilité de se renseigner sur les cours que nous proposons.
