Weekly announcements and all other website posts can be found here. All efforts are made to ensure announcements for the upcoming Monday are posted by the Thursday evening prior.

📢 Monday October 15th

Reminder that the FTX this weekend has been rescheduled. There is no FTX this weekend. More details will be announced on Monday and will be available on the website. Cadets will have to sign up again for the new date.


There will be a drill team practice this Friday (12 October) at Barrie North Collegiate from 1900-2200hrs. The team is no longer accepting new members (unless indicated otherwise), all who have attended previous tryouts are still welcome.


The dress for Monday, October 15th will be C2 (tunic and tie). If without a uniform, the dress is a white collared shirt with black dress pants and shoes (black tie optional).


All cadets interested in applying for National Courses are asked to see CI St. Jean this Monday. National Course applications are open to cadets Level 3+. Click here to learn about the various National Courses and to see which ones you may be interested in. Applications will be due around 19th November.


Annual Validation Forms – PARENT/GUARDIAN SIGNATURE REQUIRED. Validation forms are overdue. If you have yet to sign yours, you must do so ASAP!


OPC Tickets are available to cadets level 2+. If you have not received yours, please see a member of the SSC. OPC tickets are to be sold and the stubs and money returned ASAP.


102 Squadron will be conducting our fall tagging fundraiser on the weekend of Oct 19-21. All cadets are required to complete a minimum of 3 shifts. Tagging is how the squadron funds the majority of its activities so it’s important that everyone does their part. Cadets who do 5 shifts may get a reward! Sign up for tagging!


All cadets new to 102 Squadron (yes, even if you were fast-tracked), all level 4s, and any level 2s who did not receive PSRY training last year, will be required to attend PSRY training from 0900-1600hrs on 27 October at the Armoury. Dress is civilian.


102 Squadron will be selling tickets to the Barrie Colts hockey game on 10th November. The Barrie Colts will be playing the Ottawa 67’s at 1930hrs. The Colts have given us a discount rate of $21.00 for tickets. $6.00 from each ticket is donated to 102 Squadron. Ticket orders (using this form) will be accepted until October 29th and tickets will be distributed on November 5th. The top 3 cadets to sell the most tickets will be members of the flag party and will stand out on the ice during the national anthem.


If you are interested in joining the 102 Squadron Debate team or learning how to debate, please sign up on our interest list so we can see who may like to be involved! The team tryout date and specific details will be provided soon. All levels are welcome and you do not need prior experience to try it out! See FSgt Samuels with questions.


If you need to exchange uniform parts, speak with your Flight Sergeant about making an appointment with supply. Make sure to take proper care of your uniform! Use 102 squadron’s uniform guide to find the best ways to look sharp.


New cadets are welcome and are encouraged to visit us during our regular parade nights. This is Monday nights at 6:30pm. In order to enroll, you must provide a valid health card and birth certificate or passport.

Monday, October 8th is not a parade night. There will be no training. Happy Thanksgiving!

UPDATE:

We regret to inform you that due to lack of equipment and supplies, the Fall FTX scheduled for 12-14 October has been cancelled. We are working to reschedule the FTX for another weekend this fall, so stay tuned for more information! We apologize for the short notice and thank you for your understanding.

The CIBC Run For The Cure will take place this Sunday (Sept 30th), and 102 Squadron will be participating! Cadets have the option to walk or run a distance of 1 or 5km. Collecting pledges is not required but is encouraged! Click here for event information.
